Proper training in the use of chainsaws is vital for their proper use, as well as to prevent injuries in the industry. With this training you will become confident in the use of chainsaws and receive proper certification improving your employment opportunities in the Forestry and Oil & Gas industries.

All Aspects of Faller/Bucker training are available through the following The Canadian Association of Geophysical Contractors (CAGC) Chainsaw Safety Training courses (must be 18 years or older).

ENFORM Chainsaw Safety Training Courses by Rick Douglas Safety providing all levels of chainsaw training safety in Forestry and Oil & Gas industries.Level 1 – Chain Saw Basics (limbing & bucking)

  • 3 days instruction on theory/maintenance/and practical use.
  • All personal protective equipment is supplied excluding gloves and boots.
  • Chainsaws are supplied while in training.
  • Manuals are included.
  • Students must provide their own transportation.

Level 2 – Faller Entry

  • 5 days instruction on Falling (1 day theory and 4 days in the field).
  • Manuals and info flip charts are included.
  • Students must supply their own personal protective equipment, chainsaws, and falling tools.
  • Students must provide their own transportation.

Level 3 – Faller Evaluation

  • The Level 3 course can also be challenged with the appropriate documentation and field experience.
  • After passing the Level 3 course a certified 5-year CAGC Faller Ticket will be issued to the student. To become a possible faller tutor you will need a grade of 85% or higher on both the written and practical exams.
  • Students must provide their own transportation.

Preparation CourseENFORM Chainsaw Safety Training Courses by Rick Douglas Safety providing all levels of chainsaw training safety in Forestry and Oil & Gas industries.

This course is a 2, 3, 4 or 5-day course that gives you classroom and field experience leading up to the Level 3 evaluation. The level of the student’s capabilities, and knowledge of the falling program, will determine how many days are required for training leading up to the evaluation.

Faller Competency Test

Approximate time is 2-3 hours. 3 competency tests are required within the last 2 years of the Faller’s ticket expiring, or a Level 3 re-certification (evaluation) will be required after the ticket is expired. (See our Faller Competency Checklist – Sample)

QST Audits: These are preformed on QST’s…  QST1 to QST4 in order to keep the level of quality and control in the oil and gas industry.
